April sees a fantastic line up for bands @ the Galleon.

April 2nd Tankslapper- A 4 piece band playing all kinds of great covers from Green Day right across the board to Barry Manilow,

April 9th Dolphins Fly-The Dolphins Fly were formed in Cornwall in 2000 by brothers Dave and Mart Marney. After penning more than 50 new songs and building up an army of followers from the acoustic sessions it was time to reform the band and at the start of 2008 bass player Nick Gunn and drummer Billy Bowen became fellow Dolphins. From the first rehearsal the music breathed new life with the band quickly meshing together perfectly with this gifted rhythm section. Together with the warm harmonies, layered guitars, infectious grooves and soaring tunes we think you’ll enjoy seeing them.

April 16th Lost in Space - The LOST IN SPACE mission is to get you off your seats and on your feet, grooving the night away. It’s simple, really; the more fun you’re having, the more fun we’re having, and that’s what it’s all about. We do this because we love it, so you get a lot more bang for your buck. What do we do? We’re a stomping seven-piece party band with a full-on brass sound: trumpet, trombone and saxophone, plus bass, keyboards, two singers, a bit of amped-up violin and more percussion than you can shake a stick at. What do we sound like? Everything from blues and funk to ska and jazz, with a smattering of wild-eyed gypsy folk-punk thrown in for good measure.

April 23rd Mowtown Pirates- Newly formed Band for 2010 Motown Pirates are a Cornish band playing 100% Pure Motown Classics Fron the likes of, Supremes, Four Tops, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Marvin Gaye, Mary Wells, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations… With all these classic tunes you’d better get out your dancing shoes, the Motown Pirates are on their way!

April 30th Vicious Disco- Another Galleon Favourite Vicous Disco play a varity of covers from Micheal Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Foo Fighters and even a little bit of Rage, If you like a good upbeat band then this band is for you.

Doom Bar Bitter is named after an infamous sandbank at the mouth of the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall.

Where the river Camel meets the Atlantic Ocean on Cornwall’s rugged north coast, a sand bank, centuries old, known as the Doom Bar protects and calms this beautiful estuary. Sailors respect the Doom Bar knowing it to be unforgiving if met with haste or arrogance.

Doom Bar the beer embodies many characteristics which make it worthy to carry the name of this natural wonder. It’s distinctive aroma and balanced flavour set it apart from other beers taking unsuspecting first time drinkers by surprise with its moreish appeal. Doom Bar has achieved international cult status, is one of the fastest growing beer brands in the UK and the best selling cask beer in the South West of England.

Taste Notes Stuart Howe Head Brewer
“The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.”

Awards
- Regional winner of the Morning Advertiser ‘Great British Pub Supplier Award’, 2009
- International Beer Challenge World Top 50 Beer 2006
- Bronze medal winner, Publican Licensees Choice Awards, 2009
